During your stay at Ness Walk Hotel, you’ll have the opportunity to sample some of Scotland’s culinary delights. The plates in our fine dining restaurant are populated with the meat, seafood, plants, crops, dairy, culture, landscape, skill and character that make the Highlands so special. Our menus change with the seasons, but here’s some Scottish food and drink you should look out for, either here in our Inverness restaurant, or on your travels around Scotland…
Haggis
We’ll start with Scotland’s national dish. Haggis is a spicy meat pudding, traditionally served with mashed neeps (turnips) and tatties (potatoes). But there are lots of different ways to serve it, such as our tasty haggis bon bons.
Seafood
Due to Scotland’s location by the North Sea and Atlantic Ocean, we have our pick when it comes to the best fresh seafood. From seared Orkney scallops to citrus-cured salmon, you’ll find something on our menu to tempt the tastebuds.
Cheese
Scotland is well-known for its delicious cheeses. Our selection of Scottish cheeses at Ness Walk includes a bold blue, creamy soft and a rich Tain cheddar. Enjoy with malt loaf, pickled walnut and fruit chutney.
Breakfast
A cooked Scottish breakfast is a real treat! Served every morning in our restaurant, our full Highland breakfast includes pork sausage, egg, bacon, haggis, black pudding, mushroom and tomato. We also have vegetarian options available.
Tablet
This is the Scottish version of fudge. It’s sweet and crumbly with a velvety texture. The perfect sugar hit to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee. Our whisky tablet simply melts in the mouth!
Whisky
Whisky is, of course, Scotland’s national drink. Head to the bar at Ness Walk Hotel to sample from a wide range of specially-curated Scotch whiskies.
Each dish we serve at Torrish is a celebration of local smallscale artisan and craft producers, farmers
and growers. So, book your table and experience a taste of Scotland with us!
