Daylight hours remain nice and long in October, with the sun rising around 7am at the beginning of the month and setting around 7pm. The sunrises and sunsets can be particularly beautiful at this time of year, and there is a lovely warm atmosphere in the evenings as candles glow brighter against the backdrop of the twinkling riverside.

Longing to return to the Scottish Highlands...

Cianalas (pronounced kee-un-ah-las) is a Scottish Gaelic term for a profound, deep-seated sense of homesickness, longing, or nostalgia for one’s home, particularly associated with the Highlands and Islands. It represents a profound, emotional, and sometimes hereditary yearning for the landscape, culture, and roots that shaped a person’s identity.
