A Little Litter Pick Goes a Long Way...

With the backdrop of blue skies and sunshine, the team Ness Walk embarked on a litter pick along the Inverness riverside on Tuesday 18th April.

The team planned this event to coincide with Earth Week 2023. This is a week that amplifies inspiration and action worldwide, culminating in Earth Day on Saturday 22nd April. More info at EARTHDAY.ORG

Armed with professional equipment from Highland Council, the team ventured along Ness Walk, Bught Road and through the Ness Islands along the Great Glen Way. Along the way, the group were met with an abundance of praise from locals and tourists alike. They received lots of well-wishes and words of encouragement.

Local event host and all-life coach, Nicky Marr (@nickymarr), was one of the many who stopped on-route to thank the team. She tweeted this photo of Operations Director Craig Ewan in action.

Giving back to the community

Our Human Resources team organised this event, inspired to give back to the community while bringing the team together. The group included associates and managers from across multiple departments. Ness Walk’s Deputy Manager Christopher Kelly joined associates from sister hotel, the Kingsmills Hotel, taking time to tidy the beautiful banks of the river that Ness Walk proudly sits alongside. The hotel has said they are now planning to schedule litter picks regularly as a way to get associates together. While giving back to the local area, keep the conversation about the environment open and enjoy the great outdoors.
